About Integral Alliance

What are we?
Integral is an alliance that unites 15 relief and development agencies in 13 different countries. We share one vision – a world without poverty. Integral’s aim is to see holistic transformation for more of the world’s poor through facilitating collaboration amongst its Members.

Integral started in January 2005, just after the Tsunami hit, after a 3 year consultation period. What drew such diverse organisations together, all from different countries, were their underlying Christian values, & a belief that the poor would be better served if resources were combined.

What do we do?
Integral’s work focuses on two areas, Disaster Management and Collaboration. Together with its Member Agencies Integral concentrates on increasing the quality & capacity of the work of its Members, with the aim of achieving international best practice standards both separately & together. Integral Members share a commitment to quality, and to working with other Christians in disaster mitigation, preparedness & response. Integral Members are working together to increase their ability & mutual support to access institutional funding, and find other opportunities for economies of scale by working together in the areas of Marketing and Fundraising and Development.

Why do we work together?
Integral is increasingly fulfilling the growing expectation among donors and funding bodies that collaboration is, in the long-term, a more efficient, effective and therefore more ethical way of carrying out relief and development.

Integral represents an innovative approach to poverty reduction that harnesses a co-operative worldwide partnership of professional and proven relief and development agencies and their networks in the two-thirds world.

How are we run?
The Secretariat is a virtual team based across the world who work to support Members to implement the agreed strategy. The Secretariat provides high quality support, facilitation and networking opportunities for its Members and groups.
